โรงพยาบาลเชียงรายประชานุเคราะห์ หรือที่ชาวเชียงรายนิยมเรียกว่า โฮงยาไทย และที่มีคำว่าประชานุเคราะห์ต่อท้ายเนื่องจากได้รับการสนับสนุนในการจัดสร้างจากประชาชน ซึ่งประวัติศาสตร์เริ่มตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2475 จากกลุ่มบุคคลซึ่งเรียกว่า คณะราษฎร์ ได้ทำการเปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครองและมีนโยบายสร้างโรงพยาบาลหัวเมือง โดยประกาศ พรบ. สาธารณสุข ในปี พ.ศ. 2477 ปัจจุบันมีจำนวน 756 เตียง มีเนื้อที่ 72 ไร่ 3 งาน 4 ตารางวา
