I would love to give this place more stars but Im finding it hard as my self esteem has been shattered. Please read on if you dont want to make the same mistake I did. Yes I can agree that this dentistry is clean and modern and uses the best quality equipment, but I had gone here with 100% trust (after a lot of research and reading good reviews) that I would leave with a smile I love. I have always struggled with my smile, as my teeth were small, naturally a darker shade and had huge gaps (which I had been told by a few dentists that braces weren’t an option as the gaps were too big). I put my trust into the dentist when I told her my main reason for being there was to fill in the gaps, and have a natural smile. I had told her I wanted the 2nd/3rd whitest shade, but she had told me due to my pale/white complexion the whitest would be best. Seeing I am no dentist and definitely no expert in veneers, I went with her recommendation. Unfortunately the sample colour is the size of a small finger nail, so it is hard to imagine what a whole mouth will look like once done. Once they had been put on I was happy at first but shocked by how white they were, and she reassured me i would get use to it over time. Only 4 weeks after I got them on, I was eating a muffin and I felt something hard in there, and when I looked down my veneer was in the muffin. I contacted them immediately and said my tooth fell out, and asked what to do? They told me to go to a dentist and get it re stuck on or I could fly back to Bangkok and they could do it free of charge (under the 2 year warranty). My confidence in them even lower now that one of my teeth had fallen off so quickly but also was still not adjusting to how white my veneers are. When I emailed back saying that I wouldnt be able to fly back to Bangkok to use the warranty to get the tooth stuck on but was hoping it did cover a colour change as I couldnt handle how white the teeth are and what stress it was causing me. When I went to my local dentist to get the veneer glued back on, as soon as I opened my mouth he commented straight away asking where I got my veneers done and said they look too ‘opaque’ which he said is the medical term for too white’ – I burst into tears in the chair and told him I was hoping to get them changed. Most days i would cry in the mirror at how unrealistic they look to the average person with white teeth. After many emails to them, there was no sympathy or understanding at all about how I felt, what stress it was causing me and I would get short one or two sentence responses saying ‘I am the first person to ever complain about the shade of colour and due to this they couldnt help me’ as its not covered by warranty there is nothing I could do. I have spent many hours up at night, writting letters to them hoping one of them they would understand me.They eventually came back to me saying they could give me a discount, but it would still end up costing me $5000 AUD to get them fixed at a discounted price. I have already spent $7,500 AUD +flights to Bangkok + hotel etc on them the first time round. The reason I am writting this review is to stop anyone else from going through this pain, as it has shattered my confidence even further when I had originally gone to Thantakit for the opposite.Please please please, if you do go to this dentist, do your research before and really make sure it is the right place for you. I have been on many forums/blogs since where people have said their dentists changed the colour FREE of charge, so I am now regretting making my decision to go with Thantakit, and either have to put up with them for the next 10- 15 years or will have to save and fork out more money to get it fixed.
